(Overview: Rianne has decided to try to take command of the city, Salvatore agreed to support her. Rianne also seems in the middle of converting to Iomedae. Just recently, she had Salvatore replace her implanted Ioun Stone with another, and shortly after, a Sense Motive on Salvatore's nearly doubled the DC required to realize Rianne wants to start a relationship with Salvatore, and Rianne has realized that Salvatore has realized something and that he is ... affected somehow by that.)
"Uh... not so much confusion about this as about ... um... er..."

"Well, as far as propriety is concerned, nothing we have done has broken it. Nor would we."

"Uh, no need to apologize. I -- I've just never figured into romance much... and the combination of you kissing me ... right after the Ioun Stone surgery on *blush* you know *massive blush* -- was easy to misinterpret..."

"Working on me made you uncomfortable?" Rianne blushes as she says this, and laughs saying, "And now I'm a little embarrassed that you were embarrassed."

"Only marginally; I'm quite professional when I'm working as a surgeon. Just, right after I was packing up and not medically detached..."

Rianne stands up and, continuing to smile, says, "Heh, I see. Got you at the right moment then. In any event, there is a three-quarters full bottle of Corentyn Red downstairs that I should probably not drink all of by myself. Care to share?"

The cheers were said, and everyone was dismissed from the meeting. Encindal and Nora walked down the halls to Encindal's room, mostly to prepare for the infiltration of Citadel Rivad. Encindal normally wouldn't have thought much of going there, but given that every other place had tried to murder him and all he stood for...it was a good idea to be prepared for anything.
As they walked down, Nora asked "Are you feeling okay master? You seem a bit down lately."
"Well...I dunno I think it's just the stress getting to me is all. Of all the things I thought would happen I never thought Rianne and Salvatore would try to take the city for themselves." Encindal replied.
"I'd say it's more than that," Nora said "I think you're still feeling down about what happened to your sister. Am I right or am I right?"
"...Yeah, I suppose you are." Encindal mused, "I'm just glad that she seems to have recovered surprisingly well...two years of torture would've probably broke me."
"Ah don't sell yourself short master." came Nora's reply "I think she would've done the same thing for you if your roles were switched. Of course, I wouldn't have had as many fine meals if you weren't around!" she said with a toothy grin.
Encindal was not amused "Yeah yeah...I'm just...ugh. I suppose I'm just baffled about how we got into this mess. All of this because Elena did the unthinkable, tried to kill her own teammates in a dungeon delve just to get the money to sustain us. Stupid...why---"
"Because she cared about you of course." Nora butted in "Was it morally reprehensible? Certainly. But there's no doubt she was quite desperate by that point. You just need to give her another chance."
Encindal paused for a moment, then said "Yes...you're right."
"At any rate, I really hope this conflict is over soon. I've already had a few too many close calls, and I still jump at my own shadow. I just want to be left alone." he continued.
"Hmm...are you sure that's what you want?" Nora said.
"Of course, I didn't involve myself in the Guardians to be chased around all my life by blood sucking vampires or psycho demon cultists! I just wanted to find my sister." Encindal angrily replied.
"Now Encindal, remember that we promised not to have secrets between each other...besides my eating and restroom habits but that's not the point! If you want to be left alone now...why help the Guardians take the city?" Nora said.
"I..." Encindal went silent for about a minute and said "I want to make them pay."
"Make who pay?" asked Nora.
Encindal quickly flew into a rant "The madman who decided to torture my own family that's who! I'm tired of being picked on by orcs and gangs, just because they seem to see me and everyone around me as easy targets! I want to make them pay so badly that people won't bother trying to rob me or kill me or sell me off to slavery. They'll be too afraid."
Calming down a bit, he added "The worst part is, I'm starting to think this was nothing more than another ploy by Janiven or Jithabha or whoever the heck she is. Think about it, she more than likely saw my sister's talents as potentially applicable to her younger brother, and useful as a tool. Heck, she might've even been behind me getting that summoner's tome, she's just that crazy. Of course, even if I turn out to be wrong about that, I'm sure somebody was behind this conspiracy to make my sister disappear, and no matter who it is, they will die. If I cannot find this person, I suppose I will have to settle for the Drovenge demon-prince's head."
"So it's revenge..." Nora mused "Be careful not to let it consume you."
"Don't worry, it'll only be one time." Encindal said
"I dunno, you human-spawn always say that and then---"
But Nora was cut off by a yell from Rianne "OUCH DAMNIT FUCK AUGH!!..."
Immediately Encindal drew his sword, activated his Mistmail, and dashed off to where the sound originated, Nora followed closely behind. As they came into the room, they saw Rianne in pain, and Salvatore trying to dress her wounds.
"What happened here, are we under attack?!" Encindal asked.

"Surgery, is all. This procedure is best on a sleeping patient, but given that this particular technique requires knowledge of the arcane, Rianne needs to remain awake to instruct me on that aspect. Please leave the operating room until this is done."

"Oh, surgery? What...never mind, I'll ask later" Encindal said, kind of embarrassed at his intrusion. He sheathed his Scimitar and left the room. Nora however, only stepped out of Salvatore's line of sight, just to be safe.
Encindal stopped in the hallway leading out, then cast a Message Spell (DC 25 Perception I think) "Hmm? You still don't trust them Nora?"
Nora shrugged and said "Oh it's not that exactly. I'd just like to watch them to find some sort of confirmation that both of these human-spawn are worth setting up in a position of power. You know how power corrupts some."
"Perhaps. We should keep an eye on them but personally I think you're probably just being paranoid" Encindal said. Then he walked to his room, leaving Nora in the room just outside the operating room.

Not too long after, Nora sees Rianne leaving, then about half an hour later, Rianne returns to the room.

Because of in session events, it is assumed the latter part of this was talked about after abandoning the hideout.

As Rianne and Salvatore are sharing the bottle of wine that night, Rianne says, "Hmm. I was unaffected by your spell earlier tonight. That was unexpected, to say the least."
