"Well, it says she has gone to deliver a message to Avidion. She isn't here, but I imagine we'll run into her at some point. The rest of the journal is just describing Vrood's divinations to Urgathoa and some kind of strange ceremony that he has been keeping secret from even Tiffany... Avidion's doing something with a skull he had Vrood make out of ground down bones from Feldgrau, the 'keeper's soul' and the Packlord's heart. He also mentioned something he made an exchange for, with a sea-idol of some sort, if I had to guess, it was whatever he had stolen from the university. Even I don't know what kind of ceremony requires these components..."

@duristan: "Not a problem. Hopefully you won't feel so lost now that you're back in civilization; we can probably find some way to remove your lycanthropy, too."

"I was hoping you had some wolfsbane left that you'd let me borrow. Do you?"

"Yeah, I think we have a few doses left. The stuff is poisonous, though; it may be a good idea to wait for the others to return and see if they know of any safer ways to remove the curse."

"There are indeed other ways involving curse removing magic but...they are only effective during the full moon, when I am blacking out from the curse. That's a dangerous time Matt, and it'd be better to not put anybody at unnecessary risk for my sake. The poison will do, though I truly appreciate your concern."

"Hmm... Well, alright, but we should still probably wait for the others. Clarissa and Kendra may know some spells that can help you survive the poison."

"Alright."
"So, you've probably realized by now that Feldgrau wasn't the first time I met your party. I was pals with them for a bit."

"We were out to hunt some werewolves in the Shudderwood. I separated my group from them, and my group was terribly wrecked, and I got bitten. The rest is old news."
"This experience will be one that I will not be eager to regale others with."

After collecting Matt and Duristan, some gather information is gathered by this group about the Black Rider, as well as a possible destination.
Two riders matching that description came through town a day or so ago, but they didn’t stay long.
Two taciturn, dark-cloaked strangers swapped their horses for fresh mounts at the livery stable a day ago. One of them headed out of town down the coast road toward Illmarsh. The whereabouts of the other rider are unknown.
Illmarsh is a little swamp town that lies down the coast from Thrushmoor. Its residents are strange folk, and natives of Thrushmoor call them “musties” on account of the distinctive unpleasant odor Illmarshers carry about them.
Illmarsh is just a little fishing and logging town. It’s nothing much to speak of, and doesn’t even have a legitimate militia—just a local sheriff and a few half-trained deputies for handling the town drunk or the occasional vandal. The House of Undiomede used to rule the town, before that line died out. Now a mayor runs it, Greedle by name, appointed by the count to make sure the taxes come in on time.

After Duristan overcomes his lycantrhopy with wolfsbane, he takes his time in leaving, but eventually does. "I must thank you again for the kindness you have shown me," he says as he leaves. "If you are ever in Ardeal, please visit me. You are good friends. Akiani, Kendra, Matt, Clarissa. Goodbye."
