Moving to a new thread. Looks like Maxim's out.
There are a few groups of soldiers, and a few commanders. Patrols coming in through the sally ports in the walls. There are dozens of workers working on the walls. Cliff/Mountain to one side, forests not too far off on another. Mines are within the walls. Lots of barracks, some towers. Buildings in tiers so inner defenders can shoot outer attackers on any walls.
Things to look into soon, post how you do so in what order: Soldiers - what the current patrols and battle plans are Cold weather - you need some way of protecting yourselves from it Walls - still under construction Food - how much, stockpiles, etc.

First things first, Adrasteia is determined to look into who the commanding officer of the mining camp is. If nothing else, he could surely send in insights that her and her companions might have missed, or not had the opportunity to discover in the short time they are here.
Secondly, Adrasteia goes to Loric, and asks him if Miyamora (apologies if I spelt that incorrectly), had done any research on limiting the effect of cold weather on a small town/camp. Knowing little of actual magic, Adrasteia is quite happy getting Loric (and Oros(?)) to look into that, both of them have a greater handle on spellcasting than she does.
Thirdly, Adrasteia is determined to look into fixing the wall as a primary concern. She is relatively aware that magic can solve a food/water issue (though she thinks Loric again is the best person to go to for tactical advice on siege warfare / defence), but she knows enough that proper physical defences should do the trick. She still wants to investigate getting a decanter of endless water though.
Forthly, Adrasteia will do some training with the archers. Maybe she will learn something, but its more likely that the archers will learn something from her, shes pretty good at archery after all.

Knowledge Local Geography roll on giants 24+2
17:26 LoL_Guardian you know that there are several places they could be
17:26 LoL_Guardian most are hidden from the air
17:26 LoL_Guardian except to those that know where
"As aerial reconnaissance is unlikely at this time, I suggest any scouting teams proceed with extreme caution on foot. From what I know about giants themselves, their only effective ranged offense is throwing boulders, which while deadly, can be seen and avoided with relative ease."

Considering I can see 500 feet, fog, cloud etc etc isn't an issue, and Agape rolled a 25, with Miya being able to get 30+ on a geography roll, I'm fairly certain we don't need to proceed on foot, since anything we could see at ground level, I could see from being high in the sky.

Have you decided completely on how you will scout, then?

Do you search near the camp/settlement in all directions, do you search sort of nearby to ~90 degrees (and which direction), a fair distance at ~45 degrees, or as far in about one direction as you can for ~30 degrees?
There are potential Giant spots in all directions. EDIT: if you do not choose a direction (north, south, etc.) then I will roll randomly for you.

If a +50 Perception Roll , a +30 in Knowledge Geo, a +25 Knowledge roll on Giants and an Augury spell couldn't narrow that down then you might as well lol....

Okay, searching due north for about 45 degrees at a fair distance, you see some mountains that look like they should have large caves and some overhangs that giants could use, but you don't spot any giants. It's also very cold there.

Got a 36 on survival, and can surge for higher if you think its wise. I am lowered down to ground level by a chain tethered to me, and searching for tracks etc.

You find the evidence for the existence of tracks, but not much more, nor do they lead anywhere.

You find some tracks, pointing towards a mountain. They are not from giants.

You follow them to what looks like an abandoned village of no particular value.
