Salvatore left that day to repay his six months of debt, leaving for the armies of Heaven. He was missed for all six months. After the day of celebration of independence was over, a skilled alchemist was hired to use the Philosopher's Stone to turn as much lead to gold as he could. A small amount of the gold was given to him in payment; a trifling sum, compared to the gold yielded. Tens of thousands of gold, for use by Westcrown to repair damages. This treasure, along with the wealth the Guardians had gathered was put to use starting Westcrown’s new life as a citystate.
Rianne reacquired the Tulles estate, a small estate to be sure, but still grander than regular housing in the city. Her home, which had been empty for over a decade, excepting vagabonds and vermin, was restored as the residence of the city’s new mayor, and the house of Tulles bought out of oblivion.
After the repairs to the city caused by the Council were completed, repairs began on the part of the city that would take years to fix. Reigo Despero was reopened and acknowledged as part of Westcrown. The animosity towards its tiefling inhabitants would take many years to change.
Bellus, Encindal, and Nora would patrol Reigo Despero often in those early months. First to eliminate the monstrous inhabitants it had gained over the years. Then to keep violence against its residents, and from its residents, at a minimum. Many did not care that Nora was a thinking creature who had a habit of killing those who were outwardly evil. What they did care about was that the Hellcaller Cup monster often ate them as well.
Delvehaven was restored and reopened once again as a Pathfinder lodge. Rianne and Salvatore contributed the needed funds to the lodge, and though Rianne officially held both the positions of Mayor of Westcrown and Venture Captain of Delvehaven, Salvatore helped with both tasks.
When Salvatore returned he learned that, despite their regular communication, Rianne had been kept a secret from him. This was the first time Salvatore learned that he was to be a father, and they had their first son three months later.
After the first year, Bellus was no longer doing rounds on the streets. Rather, she became a high-ranking member of the dottari. Cherishing the citystate that they had built, she continued to oversee it well past her prime, all the way up to and including when she was on her deathbed many years later. For years after her passing, her name would be invoked when a dottari member was caught slacking off.
Encindal and Nora disappeared from the public record shortly after Salvatore returned. While they were not known to be seen again, some years later a monster not at all dissimilar to Nora took first place in the renamed Caller’s Cup, along with her masked handler. Neither of them once said a word, and her handler never removed his mask.
Slowly, the attitudes of Westcrown began to change. Through great efforts to change its people, they became less focused on themselves, and more tolerant. It became known as a haven for tieflings living in Cheliax, and thousands flocked to it over the years. Within forty years, tieflings had become a large and accepted minority in Westcrown. The city’s liberators were more proud of these accomplishments than their founding of the citystate so many years ago, for Westcrown was now a new city.
