Both swordsmen are dropped, so you you have a prone crossbowman (unloaded bow) in a grease area, and can move to attack the other crossbowman (not a charge, generally), who's crossbow is loaded.
Ullar turn.

attacking the prone crossbowman.
20 to hit, 9 damage, crit threat.
If 11 confirms, change that to 18 damage.

If I can get in range for it without affecting anyone else, I cast Colour Spray on the last guy DC 14
If I can't I snap my fingers and have him surrounded by photon particles reducing his Attack and Perception rolls by 1

Last one drops to color spray; finishing him will not need any rolls. You can talk a bit, and maybe say what you do next.

You manage to save three of them. One dead upon being hit, another bled out.

"Huh. They were our enemies...but hey, prisoners. I suppose that's a reason."
"Now, let's check out these soul gems."

The first three carts contain food and supplies. The fourth contains large sacks of gold and gems. The fifth contains weapons and armor. As you're inspecting them, you see Driso approaching.
"Wait, you actually beat them? I just wanted you to spook them into the ambush a short ways down the road. ... Ah, I see the soul gems, I think..." He picks out some of the gems in the piles of gold, then casts a few spells. "Yes, these are soul gems, all right... Ooh, and supplies, too! Well done!"

Zephyr wipes the blood off of his sword, and slowly returns it to the sheath on this back. "Well that could have gone far worse."

"Well, I figured you could probably do it on your own... just not likely you'd manage on the first try! Anyway, why don't you visit Quartermaster Zeen with the supplies?" Driso then gestures to some others further down the road, who come and pick up some of the bags. "This windfall will be quite useful, and he can probably put it to the best use."

"Sounds good. I'll carry these bags." Vulthen picked up some bags. "Here's hoping you all can put these things to good use!"
He strikes up a conversation with a rebel from farther down the road. (DO NOT READ SPOILER IF YOU ARE NOT THE GM TYVM)

Ullar only: Welcome, brother.
We expected you to arrive sometime; glad you're here. We'll send you occasional notes about what must next be done. In the mean time, we have some animal spirit gems - expensive, but useful - that we'll replace for the souls in the bag. Don't worry yourself doing that; we've already got it covered. Later that day, Driso comes and mentions that some wolves have been hounding the scouts lately.
