"I am disturbed by this revelation. If Hope has descended to find champions, the world may be in more dire circumstances than we previously thought..."
Oros looks at Loric for a moment and in a moment of realization looks excited. "Loric? I haven't seen you in years! What are you doing in the Empire's battalion? Weren't you going to further your training as a wizard?"

Adrasteia feels a rush of different emotions, confusion, because she never put much stock in hope, trepidation, in that Hope has entrusted her with some of his power to combat some future enemy, and happiness, knowing that at this stage, any power will be useful to her on her quest.

Loric had scrunched his eyebrows together resulting in either an angry or a concentrating face depending on the perceiving end but snaps out of it upon hearing a familiar voice call him.
"Hope, hmm... I thought Hope was female..."
Loric looks at Oros, a sudden realization flashing a smile on his dirty face.
"Oros! How wonderful too see you! It's been three years, hasn't it? I recognized you earlier but was ...daydreaming so didn't pick up a conversation (sorry)."
"I have finished my studies, actually. Or well... I've still got my thesis to write but I just couldn't come up with a subject under the circumstances. Besides! This is my true calling! I see it now, crystal-clear! I want to learn arms and armor here and hopefully The Order of Iomedae as well, as you may recall. What about you, what have you been up to these three years and why did you join? Also what did you make of what just happened? Have you perceived Hope as a feminine entity?"

Oros gives Loric a hard pat on the back. Perhaps too hard unintentionally...
"I can't say I pictured Hope as any gender... Then again, the Old Imperials I studied never embodied Hope as a single being... I will never understand why you romanticize the army so much; if I wasn't obligated to, I never would have joined."
"I thought I told you that I went abroad to study Old Imperial writings and the literature of Pre-Imperial times."

"Oh, my mind has been occupied by many things of late, even after it got overloaded with Advanced Cantrips." *Loric chuckles at the inside joke* "In the last two years the army has become deromanticized for me. I have learned to distinguish between glory and fame. However, who could say no to a fitness training that you get paid for even if it's not your pot of gold over the rainbow " "After you left we had to tone down our activities a little because you weren't there to talk us out of them. We mostly settled for games and making exorbitant plans for cool pranks. I picked up learning biographies of famous paladins of old." "Glad to have you back. Let's hang out during breaks like in old times. Any highlights of your study time abroad? Did you discover something or someone riveting? Learned any new magic?" The conversation with Oros seems to have a good effect on Loric, causing him to be more focused and outgoing for the time being.

"I'd say I learned a lot of things in my time with history... One ancient tribe in particular had some enlightening rituals and incantations. I'm sure you'll see them for yourself."

Since no one seemed to be the least bit perturbed about Linebeck calling forth a vicious ghoul, or him being addressed as the Warden of Souls, that's a new one, he walked toward the medical tent. Jacob would receive healing if and only if the tent wasn't busy. Otherwise Linebeck seemed distant, mulling over something strange.

For von only: "Uh, sorry, I don't have inflict spells prepared today... why don't you send him here tomorrow morning? I'll ask Grenth to give you time for that; regs say he has to."

Actually, Adrasteia is watching Linebeck carefully, while casually eavesdropping on Loric / Oros

Loric nodded to Warden when he was departing to take his ghoul to the medics.
To identify the ghoul: Religion 10 Arcana 24 Untrained Planes 5
"Good call, there. That ghoul you summoned needs negative energy to be healed, which we cannot provide ourselves... That was an impressive spell, something like that was not described in my studies. You must be a powerful necromancer, Warden."

For Agape: by Arcana: Warden used some sort of summoning ritual By Religion: What he summoned is some sort of undead not of this world By Planes: nothing

It seems the term warden had stuck. "I'm not a necromancer," Linebeck says to Loric, "I'm a gaoler by trade."

Lorics frowns upon realizing his mistake.
"Ah. An exquisite ritual nevertheless. A grim profession but an honorable one. Alas gaolers do not receive the credit they deserve in epics."

"I did not see your summoning ritual myself... But your ghoul looks strange."

Upon the old man's disappearance, Raijin scratched his head, then said "That was weird, you all seem to know who this Hope person is but I certainly don't." He didn't bother hiding his agitation at the fact that the summoner had just called upon a ghoul. This guy might not actually call himself a necromancer, but raising the souls of the dead and being called the 'Warden of Souls' certainly didn't do much to dispel Raijin's worries.
