HOW BOOK 3 WILL WORK
Seeing as this is rather free-form, I will...get back to you on this. Expect an editing to be done soon.
Jsut know for now that it is rather sandbox, and we will only get together for missions given to you guys. Downtime will be done informally.
Galfrey sent a letter to ya, btw. Here it is. <---link
EDIT: This is how downtime will work.
We are going to do this rather informally - I will try and find you in between sessions, and we will do it individually.
Periodically, Irabeth (the current ruler of Drezen) will approach you with missions you can perform - alternatively, you may stumble on these by yourself.
You can select who will go on these missions (preferably not the whole party) and we will schedule a session!
Now, as for actual downtime:
You start with 15 units of Goods.
You receive various boons from your NPC companions:
Anevia Tirabade: When her wife Irabeth takes
command of Drezen, Anevia volunteers to serve as the
city’s spymaster. She spends much of her time in disguise,
patrolling the city for signs of demonic inf luence or
treason. Downtime Boon: Grants a +4 bonus on all checks
made to gather information or research facts and lore.
Aravashnial: With the Riftwardens of Kenabres essentially
destroyed, Aravashnial wastes no time in establishing a new
Riftwarden safe house in Drezen. In addition to rebuilding
the group’s membership and holdings, he also helps oversee
the magical defenses of Drezen. Downtime Boon: Reduces
cost or time needed to craft magic items by 5%.
Aron Kir: While Aron is skilled at reconnaissance, his
knowledge of tactics makes him an excellent candidate to
serve as Drezen’s warden. Acting partially as a captain of
the guard and partially as chief engineer for the rebuilding
of Drezen’s defenses, Aron fits into the role of warden with
ease. Downtime Boon: Generates 5 units of Labor per day.
Irabeth Tirabade: Queen Galfrey appoints Irabeth
Tirabade as the standing ruler of Drezen, and after getting
over the shock at the promotion, Irabeth swiftly proves to
be a capable and just ruler. Downtime Boon: Generates 3
units of Influence per day.
Sosiel Vaenic: Sosiel is put in charge of ensuring that
the spiritual needs of Drezen are met. Though he worships
Shelyn, Sosiel turns an old cathedral on Paradise Hill
into a multi-denominational temple where crusaders can
worship a number of deities and faiths. Downtime Boon:
Generates 1 unit of Magic per day.
Nurah Dendiwhar: Nurah is glad you have chosen to redeem
her instead of simply offing her. As such, she lends her bardic
talents to rally others to help out in Drezen's rebuilding. She
plays the jack-of-all-trades, helping wherever she can.
Downtime Boon: Every week, select a kind of capital. Nurah
generates 2 units of that capital a day (1 unit every other
day in Magic is chosen)
Also, Drezen's economy is kinda in a shambles. Feel free to contribute to rebuilding it - until you do, you will find your buying/selling opportunities to be very limited.
And finally, you can explore the surroundings of Drezen - the hexagonal map of this will be on roll20. When you want to explore or you're given a mission, we'll go there.
---------------------------------
INCUBUS THING
You walk into the cell; it was locked rather sturdily. You see a filthy but handsome man, with tattered and dark wings. He is desperately clasping a golden rod to himself, sobbing like a child. He notices you, and crawls over.
"Please...I'm begging you...take it from me! I...I can't stand it anymore!"
"No. Please don't."
A small cat emerges from the shadows.
"My name is Hassaria...this is D'Ziriak. He came into possession of this rod. It seems to have...affected him in some way. I cannot surmise how, but it is waging war with his demonic nature. I would prefer you not accept it from him, as this will free him from...whatever this is."
The man lurches at the cat, but flinches partway and sobs with renewed tears.
