"You need to find the angle your friend was imprisoned from, and then cast an abjuration upon the lantern. A relatively weak Shield of Faith will keep it up for an hour... stronger abjurations will last longer."

"We don't have the time go through all the combinations!"
"Ugh...."
Loric casts Detect Magic on the Lantern. Failing that, he gets even more frustrated.
"We have no time for this... SERGEANT... or whoever is the second ranking officer here! Get us all the gunpowder the army has, as fast as possible! We'll blow our way through if we have to."

Priest: "Or you could just walk in circles around it, holding a light at various elevations... there aren't that many in there..."
The army guys aren't present - most are outside, in with Grenth, or searching the roads.

I quickly fly outside to tell the officers outside that I need all the gunpowder.

"..." "......"
"...I need to reform the army."
Loric flies back and tries every possible angle with Oros. When a suitably sexy monster is found, asking Oros and the Cleric to cast an Abjuration on it to let us enter. 2 hours will do.

Finding a monster? Not Adrasteia?

"My hypothesis is that the angle where we see the Incubi who had captured Adrasteia is the correct angle for us to enter."

At one angle, you spot what looks to be 3 fiendish creatures and someone in the muck.
Okay, you're in, then?

"Let's go!"
We take the soldiers with us and enter.

You see Adrasteia, sitting in mud, chained to a few posts, naked, and badly injured. There is a chest nearby that includes some of the things you've seen Adrasteia wear. Chained to posts nearby Adrasteia - but unable to get within about 15 feet of her post - are three incubi, each chained about 120 degrees away from each other. One, seeing you enter, comes at you, but is cut short.
Each incubus seems to be on a 50' chain. Adrasteia's is much shorter.
You have 10 archers with you. Initiatives.

Okay, the archers are mostly out of arrows after they finish off the Incubi. Also, the trap door I mentioned on IRC is jammed shut, now.
You can speak with Adrasteia now. She's still chained up.

Would like that over IRC, on some night that I can make it.

noting that IRC logs have been posted to that thread.
What sort of route do you take? Leave immediately, talk to the governor, find Grenth, etc.

Leave immediately with the airship, picking up Grenth and the army on the way. The diplomats and bueraucrats can deal with the governor, Adrasteia needs to be taken for treatment ASAP.

As you try and make good your escape, you see a dwarf in heavy armor stepping in to block the way. With him is a strange houndlike monster: This black mechanical hunting dog keeps its nose to the ground collecting scents. Gleaming teeth fill its metal mouth. (Kn: Arcana Identifies)
Perception checks.
"So, I hear you found something you weren't supposed to... Time for you to die, then." As he says this, the castle rattles from some detonation further within.
Initiatives.
