Linebeck takes out his wooden holy symbol of Iomedae from under his chain shirt, and nods at the stranger.

The dragon turns to Linebeck and says, "Ah! One of you survived! After my task here is over, I must hear what happened that day." He pauses. "Ah, how rude of me. I haven't introduced myself, yet. I am Peace Through Vigilance."

Loric raises an eyebrow in questioning confusion.
"...!"
Loric reaches a conclusion.

"Are you another Incarnation, like Hope, or did your parents just really enjoy literal names?"

Peace raises an eyebrow at that. "Is that how you talk your distant uncle, Oros?" he says, chuckling. "Though going by my dear younger siblings' names, I'd have to agree with the literal names idea. I'm no Incarnation, nor Embodiment. Anyway, I came here originally to speak with my descendent, Verr, but Mother Iomedae has asked me to speak with one of my other nephews on the way..." He turns to Loric. "Ah, there you are."

"...Me?"

"Yes, Loric... ah, going by your voice, that explains why I'm supposed to speak with you. What was that I heard from you inside saying this was the ... ah, 'best day ever,' as you phrased it?" He seems to be glaring.

"...?"
Loric looks puzzled.
"Indeed! I finally understood how backhand swings grant greater arm movement while wearing armor. Our teamwork was amazing and I got to see a long-lost friend. I am living... ...my second-best dream..."
Upon saying this Loric looks downcast and sad.
"I am sorry, Sir Peace. I should have known to honor an elder servant of Iomedae more. What is it that you wish of me?" Loric says while kneeling before Peace.

He looks puzzled briefly. "... Well, that is a partly acceptable reason for claiming it to have been a good day... at least in comparison to what I'd thought. But I must tell you this: no day is good when two peoples battle for their survival against each other. Do not make light of days like this, even if it was a valuable learning experience... This was not a good day for anyone in battle. You just returned from reporting in your survival. Think, for a moment, of how many did NOT make it."
"And I'm past caring about formalities liked that... get up, please," he says. "My business here is finished, ... unless anyone here has something they'd like to ask?"

Loric stands up, looking scolded. :/
He mutters under his breath, looking upwards. "Noted."
Turning back towards Peace, he asks: "Sir, any news from Iomedae on my request...?"

"Hmm..? Ah, yes, that. Even after this, you are still dedicated to that path? Even knowing that the path you seek is naught but the suffering of others taken onto your own shoulders?"

"Better my shoulders than those of others, for mine belong to Iomedae."

"Well said... As much as I find formalities a waste of time... kneel to speak thy oaths."
"Do you, Loric Splendentium, swear to uphold the tenets of the Knights of Iomedae above and beyond how you swore them upon joining the faith?"
"Do you, Loric Splendentium, swear to harm no innocents?
"Do you, Loric Splendentium, swear to make of yourself a shield, to protect the innocent from the attacks of the wicked?"
"Do you, Loric Splendentium, swear to make of yourself a sword, to smite the wicked?"
"Do you, Loric Splendentium, swear to make of yourself a torch, to light the way to righteousness for those whose paths are lost to darkness?"
"Do you, Loric Splendentium, swear to use your powers only for the betterment of the world?"
"Do you, Loric Splendentium, swear to act only with honor and valor?"
"Do you, Loric Splendentium, swear to shoulder the burdens of the people that they may live in happiness?"

Loric kneels again.
"I, Loric Splendentium, swear to uphold the tenets of the Knights of Iomedae above and beyond how I swore them upon joining the faith."
"I, Loric Splendentium, swear to harm no innocents."
"I, Loric Splendentium, swear to make of myself a shield, to protect the innocent from the attacks of the wicked!"

"I, Loric Splendentium, swear to act only with honor and valor."
"I, Loric Splendentium, swear to shoulder the burdens of the people that they may live in happiness."
"Let's do this!" Loric flashes a determined smirk.

"Rise now, as a Paladin of Iomedae."

A minute goes by before Oros reacts. "Wait what? Siblings? Uncle? Paladin? You can just swear an oath like that in a side alley?"

"I'm a dragon, and the eldest child of Iomedae. Yes, I *can* swear in a paladin of Mother Iomedae where I please. As for siblings: Yes, I think my youngest sibling, Justice Though Righteousness, is around here and currently going by the name of..." he pulls out a scroll. "Grenth. He's the origin of the silverbloods, just as I am the source of the goldbloods. Not sure where your ancestor, Victory Through Courage, is at the moment, though."
He pauses.
"Over the course of the past few creations, those with the strongest desire to end the tyranny of Fate in favor of Hope have made their way from one creation to the next, in the hopes that someone might finally gain the power to stop Fate... so many universes ago... so much death... couldn't do anything" He trails off, with sorrow in his eyes.
