Thought Casting Drawback Thought: Thought casting represents requiring mental constructs necessary for the spell’s function. They are so mentally demanding that they make interruptions and distractions extremely challenging. The DC for any concentration check for a sphere ability cast by a spellcaster with this drawback increases by 10. A spellcaster with this drawback can take a move action before beginning a sphere ability to center herself; she can then use the normal DC instead of the increased DC.
Emotion Casting Drawback Emotion: Emotion casting represents the need for a particular emotional state required to use sphere abilities. A spellcaster marshals her desire in order to focus and release the spell’s energy. It is impossible for a spellcaster with this drawback to use a sphere ability while she is under the influence of a non-harmless effect with the emotion or fear descriptors. (The emotion descriptor was originally introduced in Pathfinder RPG Ultimate Magic.) Even if the effect’s emotion matches the necessary emotion to cast the psychic spell, the spellcaster is not in control of her own desires and animal impulses, which is a necessary part of providing the emotional component.
Psychic Class Spheres Conversion Casting: The sphere psychic may combine spheres and talents to create magical effects. The sphere psychic is considered a High-Caster and uses Intelligence as his casting ability modifier. (Note: All casters gain 2 bonus talents and may select a casting tradition the first time they gain the casting class feature.) Phrenic Amplifications instead apply to sphere effects instead of spells. This replaces the spells class feature.
Spell Points: The sphere psychic gains a small reservoir of energy he can call on to create truly wondrous effects, called a spell pool. This pool contains a number of spell points equal to his level + his Intelligence modifier (minimum: 1). This pool replenishes once per day after roughly 8 hours of rest.
Power of the Mind: The sphere psychic gains 1 additional spell point for every psychic level gained. This replaces all discipline spells.
Magic Talents: A sphere sorcerer gains one magic talent every level.
Recommended Casting Tradition: To recreate the feel of the psychic class, the thought casting and emotion casting drawbacks can be selected.
