He gives you a brief smile "We started primarily male organization, due to some events long past. And please consider that this language defaults to the male pronoun in case of many people."

(You don't have to say it like that...)
Driso leads you to some other caves, and leaves you to mingle.
The next day, Driso asks Luce to show you around the near forest so you know where to hide in an emergency without revealing the caves. As you're wandering, you hear a man shouting "BACK, WOLVES!" Care to investigate?

Luce shows an awkward expression on his face but instantly rushes towards the cry for help, at least he assumes it's a cry for help, it could mean a number of things, some fool shouting at wolves to back off, someone trying to convey their location and the fact they have been overrun by wolves, or that they have a wolf on their back, which would be foolish, only he has a canine on his back currently and no one who can see that is shouting. Luce is also thankful that the awkward forest tour is being interrupted, he didn't expect his first big duty to be this taxing mentally.

Vulthen grimaces, pauses for a moment, and follows Luce towards the trouble.

You spot a man in a tree, surrounded by wolves growling at him, jumping and almost reaching him.

The bald man begins to draw his weapon (a ransuer I think).

As much as I wanted to wait for everyone else, I might as well queue my action up for when everyone reacted. I shall be casting Entangle on the wolves, the man in the tree will be safe, and the wolves will be unable to jump around with the foliage attacking them.

Vulthen shrugged. It would help him get in the good graces if he helped out, so why not? He drew his greatsword and silently charged into battle.

"He should have picked a taller tree," Zephyr commented. Keeping his longbow slung, Zephyr unsheathed his greatsword. "I suppose leaving him to his fate is out of the question, eh?" He begins to advance on the wolves.

Jenara goes with the others and prepares to cast Ear-Piercing Scream on the nearest wolf.

As you approach, the wolves take a look at you and reflect on the changing odds, and retreat. As he hops down from the tree, Vulthen Linebeck notices a strange resemblance between this man and Frozeover's maximum security prisoner. "Thank you, bringers of freedom," he says, beaming. "I have appeared here to find some who can accept a part of my power. By helping what appeared at the time to be a man helpless against some wolves was the quickest way I could find for you to display traits in tune with my power... Ah, and again I've failed to introduce myself. I am Hope, among other things." As he gives his name, his eyes turn pure white and radiate light and heat. "As a reward for your kindness, take this power..." He waves his hand, and you all gain access to Hero Points. "And one more thing..." He reaches out and lightly touches each of you on the brow. "When your darkest hour comes... when my brother stands triumphant... when all has ended... call upon my power." He then stops time so that only he and Vulthen can interact. Vulthen, I implore you... please, turn aside from your dark path. It will only bring you grief. You have been lied to, but I cannot expect to change your mind this easily. Please just consider... it was not their fault.
Time resumes. He then vanishes like mist in the wind.

"So, let's just pretend that this didn't just happen," says the bald man. "Pretty much doesn't make sense; mass hallucination is what I'd call it."

Vulthen is taken aback for a moment by the message, but then swiftly recovers.
"Agreed on that point."

Scratching the back of his head, Zephyr merely shrugged. "I think I could use a drink after that."
