You're all standing in a military recruitment room.
A tall, armored figure approaches you, wearing the insignia of Captain Lord Verr, Goldblooded. Verr lifts her helmet, revealing a battle-scarred face. She speaks, “I’m Captain Abrogail Verr, and you must be the fresh meat. Congratulations on choosing the Northern Wall Defense Force, at least here, you get to know what you have to do, unlike those poor fools in Enforcement and in the Liberation Forces. Your job is simple - difficult, yes, but simple. Prevent any raiders from making it through Northwest Gate. You’ll be assigned to Lieutenant Grenth; he’s in charge of the fresh meat and the rejects. Just do whatever he says and survive, and good things may come your way. You have three days to get in shape; that’s when the scouts say we’ll be attacked.” She turns to Lieutenant Grenth. “You know what to do.” Then she leaves, putting her helmet on as she does.
Grenth stands, and shouts “ATTENTION! Is that how you salute?” He asks. “The Captain said you have three days to get in shape. You should have been five years ago. Follow me!” He opens the door, letting cold air in, and walks out, backwards, watching you follow. He leads you to a barracks. “IS THAT WHAT YOU CALL A MARCH?” He demands. “Now, present any weapons you brought with you!”

"Watch your tone with me" Adrasteia snarls back, quickly drawing her bow. "I was instructed that joining up with your little group would gain me a little information, test my patience however, and ill take my talents elsewhere".
Still royally pissed off, she presents her bow, but seems unwilling to relinquish full control over it.
"I presume you would want me somewhere high up, ready to snipe a particular target?"

Oros looks over at the commotion to his right "With all due respect miss, our officer is just doing his job. If one of us were to bring a faulty weapon and it broke during a skirmish the entire unit could be put in jeopardy..." He looks away sheepishly. "...Or uh, I guess you have your reasons to be upset um too..."
He produces his greatsword and shortbow, carefully presenting them in both hands.
"Oros Avengard of the Bronze-Scales, sir!"

The Warden opens his cloak, revealing a simple longspear and sling.

Loric is a young white-skinned human man with blue shoulder-length hair and cerulean eyes. A bandolier hangs over his leather tunic and a gleaming white shield on his back. His expression is a little distant, as if he were lost in thought or dream. He's wearing a ring made out of murky crystal on his left hand
Snapping out of it, he yells: "Loric Splendentium, Silverblooded reporting for duty, sir!"
He offers the lieutenant his longsword, light crossbow and shining shield, grinning wide. This proud moment is somewhat spoiled by him wearing his leather lamellar armor backwards.
"I can also do magic, sir!"

NB: Realised I forgot to describe my character!
(also since nothing further is happening ill RP more)
(Adrasteia is a slim, attractive human, brown hair, brown eyes, slim build, and dressed in dark clothes, chosen for flexibility and maneuverability. You get the feeling she prefers mobility over high strength protection. She doesn't smile much, is fairly sharp in speech. Though young, she seems to have experience beyond her years, perhaps having seen things that have toughened her up. Anyone that can make a DC 15 Perception check notices a battered notebook on the inside of her coat. )
Adrasteia glaces at Loric with an air of distaste before turning back towards the Sergeant(?) (Aura Guardian you called him a Sergeant first, and then a Lieutenant, which is it?) "Yes, I too, have some small degree of magical skill".
(Furthermore if my initial response to Grenth was overly aggressive (it potentially was), you can roll an Intimidate check for me (or I could do it) modifier is +7 if you lack that information)

Sorry, it's Lieutenant. Editing.
E: And there aren't enough dice in the world for that intimidate check.

Raijin is a dwarf standing 4 feet tall, with long black hair, a black beard, green eyes, and white skin. He is a physically bulky man, one who seems to prefer the protection of heavy armor to withstand blows like they were nothing. He is dressed in a plate of military grade scale mail, as well as a well adorned deep cerulean colored helmet. Perhaps the most striking feature about him are some blue, leathery wings that protrude out of his back.
He paid little attention to the screams of the lieutenant, but simply followed through the orders as efficiently as possible. When he ordered him to show off his weapons, he revealed a lone Naginata. He felt a tiny bit anxious, as the Naginata had been a gift, but silently handed it over for inspection. He also got out a Composite Longbow and some arrows for inspection.

Taking the Naginata: "Naginata, 9 pounds. Not a standard weapon, but serviceable. Seems to be in decent condition." He then returns it. "Your longbow... excellent, we like to have as many archers as we can." (Also, he, not she. Verr is female, but the male is the one who ordered the inspection)
"Loric, while these weapons are certainly in good condition, have you trained much at all in them?"
"Linebeck... your weaponry seems simple, but easy enough to maintain. We prefer crossbows and bows here, but shouldn't have much trouble with sling bullets."
"Oros, I can explain when there is call to. Do not explain for me. Your weapons, however, seem in decent condition."
"Know your place Adrestia." Grenth shoots a glare at you, Will save from Adrestia, and this is my call for Arcana and Local "Only a bow, Adrestia? Well, it seems in decent condition."
"All right, I'm going to place you by the South Wall. That's where the fewest marauders are likely to attack. Your job is to guard the South Gate. You will form a wall four wide in front of it. Oros and Loric by the sides, Raijin and Linebeck in the center, and Miss doesn't-bother-with-melee-weapons Adrestia in back. We'll make sure to provide you with sufficient ammunition..."
Local 10 reveals that Grenth is not entirely human, based on the strange gleam in his eyes when he glared at Adrestia. Arcana 10 reveals that Grenth is some sort of magical being, though you can't tell what. Trained Arcana 15 reveals that Grenth is some sort of being of ice based on the frost that was the gleam in his eyes Trained Arcana 20 reveals that Grenth is a Silver Dragon, age category unable to be determined

"Oh, sorry, Sir. I practiced with the crossbow as part of my studies."
Loric is completely unfazed by what he saw Grenth as. He has seen and studied army officers before.

Oros looks at Grenth, and then seems quite confused. He returns from his shock when the assignment is given.
"Understood sir!"

(A Silver Dragon of his age regards you in a way you'd regard a toddler and is LG, so...)
Despite your re-roll of 18 (total 22), you do NOT make the save, but the Frightening Aura is suppressed by the dragon himself, so you're only shaken, despite only 1 HD.

Raijin stood there as the weapons were inspected. It seemed that he had gotten mostly good reviews for his weapons, but it was quite clear that the lieutenant didn't take very kindly to smack talk. It seemed a good idea to Raijin to follow orders from this man faithfully, as the glance he gave...Adrestia? It probably didn't matter, as he thought it likely that he wouldn't stay in one group for too long.
The lieutenant then gave orders to guard the South Gate from attack, so Raijin saluted and said "Of course we'll secure the South Gate Sir!"

"Well," Linebeck says quietly but firmly, "If you could provide a light crossbow and some bolts."
Linebeck might be just above average height for a half-elf, but you might not know it the way he slouches. His shaggy brown hair all but covers his pointed ears, and droops in near his black elven eyes. Below them are bags that portray an individual not quite middle aged for his race. He wears a cloak over his soldier's uniform, chain shirt showing as he closes it over his weaponry. The perceptive might notice a spell components pouch on his belt.
